I want to give everyone a heads up with new releases of ransomware hitting the internet hard.
Be vigilant that you do not open attachments that are suspect. Most Anti-virus software does not flag this one yet. Another way it can infect is make the user enable macros when opening a word document, DO NOT enable Macros. Infections have also been seen on infected sites, mostly fake Microsoft sites.
The unique thing with this variant is that it can encrypt shares on the network that are not directly connected to the workstation or laptop.
In the end the best defense is a good incremental offsite backup.
